QuestBar

Oh Quest Bar. How great you are. How pricey you are for my wallet…and how you can’t stop tempting me with new awesome flavors.

I had heard there was a new flavor in town: Cookies and Cream. Naturally I had to purchase one and consider it a business expense. I just HAD to try it and report to you the results.

Results: Awesome. Why are these bars so good?! There are chunks of real oreo style cookie bits. I always double check the ingredients to make sure I didn’t misread how many carbs are in them.

Quest Bars are typically similar in nutrition profile. This bar contains 21 grams of protein and 22 grams of total carbohydrate. Note: pay no attention to “net carbs” and always look on the label for “total carbohydrates.”

I prefer protein bars to be as balanced as possible in terms of carbs and protein. If a bar has 10 gram of protein and 25 grams of carbs, that would be imbalanced and not a good choice.

So as you can see….21 grams of protein and 22 grams of total carbs is a great option. Filling, delicious and a great occasional treat. In terms of cost, these bars are pricey in my mind. As an occasional treat, I do love to splurge. You can expect almost $2.25 per bar depending on where you buy. 1. Great to hear of these Quest Bars. I am diabetic and leaving next week for a 2 week trip overseas. I’ve been “auditioning” power type bars to take with me, since getting a quick snack might not always be available. This sounds like a good option, are they available locally anywhere? Thanks for the tip on balanced carbs & protein!

  2. Yes! These are perfect for you! They are available at GNC and there are tons of flavors. They are pricey for a protein bar, but not when you compare to the price of a meal. I think you will be SO glad you have them on your trip! Safe travels!

  3. I have always enjoyed the Cinnamon Roll and the Coconut Cashew bars! Although, I haven’t met a Quest bar that I didn’t like… :-)
